Daddy's Funny

June 17, 2008

I know people want to know more about Patrick, but quite honestly, he doesn’t do much these days. Eats and sleeps.

Alex, on the other hand, can be a constant source of entertainment.

I got him out of bed this morning. He wasn’t in a great mood. He didn’t want me to change his diaper, and he didn’t want me to get him dressed. When I put him on the changing table, he just whined. To cheer him up, I tried singing songs.

“Can you sing, ‘Twinkle, twinkle…‘” I started.

He cut me off right away. “No! No!” he said.

“Can you sing, ‘Baa baa black sheep…‘”

Once more he interrupted. “No! No! No!”

So I got creative. Using the tune of Mary had a little lamb, I asked,

“Can you sing, ‘No no no no no no no?‘”

This time, instead of interrupting me, he just stared at me for a moment, a little confused, and then said, “No…?”

“There!” I said in a cheerful voice. “I knew you could do it!”

Right away, he started laughing and laughing. “Daddy funny!” he said.
